Stars - RedPeer Review of The Binding of the Wolf

by Timothy Bateson

This short story is a marvelous retelling of the myth of Fenrir, and in many ways leads up to the first meeting between Varg and Bluebell, from The Light Who Shines. While some changes are made to the myth, there are none that are outside the realms of possibility for the world of Bluebell Kildare.

The style of the writing is a mix between the old Norse tales, and Lilo Abernathy’s own, making for an interesting combination of old and new.

As the author notes, this story is best read after The Light Who Shines, so that the reader may get a better appreciation of the link between the protagonists of both stories. With the new information presented in this story, I can’t wait to read The Light Who Binds.
